The newer TomTom GPS have a shorter windshield mount that doesn't allow them to fit inside the dash pad properly. I purchased this for use with the TomTom XL 340-S that I bought at the same time. It was recommended by Amazon as an accessory, but didn't work. I think this would be a great item for other GPS that have a taller mount because the friction pad seems like it would stay on your dash really well. But for my purposes, it wouldn't work and have to give it 2 stars.
This product is very convenient. My TomTom stays right where I want it and I can store it all away out of sight for security.
This one is larger than the Garmin brand one my husband uses for his Garmin gps, but it still works just as well, and this one is cheaper=) It didn't move at all on my dash board, so I was completely happy with it. I purchased this mount for a Magellan GPS system and it worked great. I will post pictures of this one compared to the Garmin brand one soon. I mounted it with no problems at all. It's just a matter of suctioning your GPS system to the mount, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist. Just so that you see the differences for yourself. I love that this one can be used on almost anything with a suction cup and the Garmin doesn't work for anything but Garmin gps systems.
